Windows-based
remote control, monitoring, logging and file documentation
system.
Supplied on an
Auto-Install floppy disc, the PLCSCOMM program is an essential
support tool for today's researcher, maximising the benefits
available with the Contherm precision cabinets. It has been designed
to run under the Microsoft Windows environment, and the ease with
which complex operating programs can be set up is a quantum leap in
versatility and user-friendliness. With this system, it is
possible to record readings and events for later viewing and
graphing, to save and reuse individual user profiles and
automatically assign files at daily/weekly intervals. It is
recognised by QA Accreditation Bodies as an acceptable document
trail. Most PC systems come with two serial ports as standard.
COM1: is usually taken up by the mouse |

and
COM2: is usually free. A common problem is that this effectively
limits the number of cabinets able to be connected to two. Further,
if a modem is fitted, no free ports are available. The PLCSCOMM
Communications Software solves this problem. It may
be configured to acquire information from up to twenty Contherm
PLCS4/5 or GP cabinets via a maximum of four standard COM: ports,
using an expansion port available from Contherm. Alternatively,
if used with a PS/2 mouse and no modem, both ports are free for use
with the PLCSCOMM software. |
